Having never eaten at the Melting Pot before, it was a different dining experience than the norm. The atmosphere was very relaxed allowing us to eat, drink and converse without any feeling of "get in -get out" urgency of some restaurants; our table for two was pretty secluded, you could hear other couples but could not see them (in fact, you can even reserve a table with curtains that can be drawn for privacy if you wish). Food-wise, everything was fresh and full of flavor (their dessert plate is exceptional, as you can see below) and prepared pretty much right at your table. They have a large menu with a ton of variety in meal and fondue choice, but since it was our first time, we chose a 3 course dinner option with salads.
The Melting Pot at Village Point

Erin and I at our table

Dinner started with a Cheddar cheese fondue accompanied by bread, green apples and vegetables for dipping

Our Cheese fondue was followed up by Cesar salads

Our main course fondue (Coq Au Vin with mushrooms and red wine) steaming away!

Our main course sampler platter included a variety of meats and vegetables including chicken, pork, ravioli, broccoli, potatoes and filet mignon...yummmm!

Our dinner, "fondue'in"!

The "Lifeguard" spoon, used to scoop up any stragglers who depart the fondue fork.

And finally...dessert!

Dessert is were the Melting Pot really shines in my opinion. We chose a Flaming Turtle chocolate fondue (a mix of chocolate, caramel and pecans) that was delicious and for a short time (too short if you ask me) actually on fire! Everything you are given to dip into is awesome as well including a piece of the some of the best cheese cake I have ever had and my favorite... strawberries!

All in all, it was a great dining experience and top-notch Valentine's Day dinner out. With it's intimate seating, excellent service and even more excellent food, it's a great place for couples wanting a special night out, so Guys take your Ladies......... Ladies, bug your Guys to take you...you won't regret it!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Ben
