A little about me....

I figured I should get this blog going and what better way to start than to introduce myself.

Hi, my name is Ben and I...

• Am Nebraska born and bred; grew up in Waterloo, Ne, a tiny town right outside of Omaha.
• Am married my high-school sweetheart, Erin, and currently live in Papillion, NE, with two cats, Oliver and Bond and a puppy, Daisy Lou. The cats have mostly forgiven us for getting the puppy...mostly.
• Am the oldest of three children (I have a younger sister and brother); together we, as the Three Amigos, spent considerable time driving my Ma up the wall in our early formative years.
• Served back to back sentences at Waterloo Elementary and Waterloo Jr/Sr High where I met my wife and was a member of the Class of 2000, first class to graduate in the new Millenium! (we have brick in a wall in Australia to prove it)
• Attended Northwest Missouri State University where I had 4.5 years of fun; was a Freshman Resident Assistant for 2 years, met and got to know people from many, many different backgrounds, had a few "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" type college experiences and during my last two trimesters, planned my wedding (actually, more like agreed with any plans my wife came up with, but she had great plans).
• Work as a Broadcast Operations Technician for Data Transmission Network in Omaha.
• Love to read; everything from science fiction to romance and back again. Favorite authors include Nora Roberts, Suzanne Brockmann, Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum
• Have a pretty laid-back and easy-going personality (I don't stress much), but I love to argue and debate, often playing devil's advocate.
• Am a sports nut, especially for football. Favorite teams include NWMSU Bearcats and the Huskers
• Am quick to laugh and joke around. My sense of humor tends toward the sarcastic and according to some of my friends...dumb.
• Am a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, alumnus of the Missouri Theta Chapter that I helped found at Northwest Missouri State U.
• Enjoy watching movies, especially comedies. Some favorites include Star Wars, Van Wilder and Fight Club.
• Have photography on the brain...always. I am pretty much addicted (the good kind of addiction, like exercising, not the bad kind of addiction like television) to all things photography, from the gear to the forums. I am always looking for an excuse to take photos and carry my camera with me at all times for when opportunities present themselves.
